Windstar Cruises Offering Small Ship Cruises in Tahiti

Windstar Cruises offering small ship cruises in Tahiti for over 36 years – has introduced the 312-guest, all-suite Star Breeze to replace the Wind Spirit as a new year-round ship in Tahiti and French Polynesia.

After a memorable ceremony attended by more than 500 guests, including distinguished dignitaries such as Moetai Brotherson, President of French Polynesia, Tony Geros, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Manouche Lehartel, Deputy Mayor of Papeete, Star Breeze’s cruise began on April 4th February in Tahiti, Air Tahiti Nui and Tahiti Tourism partners, port officials, travel advisors, media and Windstar executives.

The event marked a significant milestone in Windstar’s commitment to providing unparalleled small ship experiences in Tahiti. To celebrate, local artist Jessie Tiare Manutahi is on board to unveil an elaborate Tahitian-inspired logo made up of symbols representing Windstar in Tahiti.

“This strategic realignment of the ships not only doubles capacity, but also brings new experiences given Breeze’s diverse dining options, expanded spa and fitness center and spacious accommodations,” said Christopher Prelog, President of Windstar Cruises. “Travellers aboard Star Breeze continue to navigate Tahiti’s remote ports, hidden lagoons and pristine beaches in Windstar’s small-ship style.”

And he noted that the ship’s relocation means faster travel to and from the islands of French Polynesia and the greater South Pacific, and allows for expansion into the remote Marquesas Islands with the all-new, 14-day Tahitian Treasures; The Magnificent Marquesas is scheduled to set sail in July 2024.

The 148-guest Wind Spirit departs Tahiti to sail the Caribbean during the winter season and the Mediterranean and Greek Islands between May and November. Wind Spirit strategically joins sister ship Wind Star in the Greek Islands to double occupancy in this busiest region.

Windstar’s Star Breeze will visit 11 islands and atolls in French Polynesia starting in 2024, offering enriching onboard cultural experiences and new elements.
