Anguilla Tourist Board Announced Record Break Arrivals In 2023

The Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) reports that the total number of stopover arrivals reached an all-time high of 95,944 in 2023, surpassing the previous record set in 2019.

In terms of total visitor arrivals, which include day-trippers, Anguilla is rapidly closing the gap and even exceeding the pre-pandemic figures in 2019. The 155,732 visitor arrivals recorded in 2023 are only 6% lower than the figure from 2019.

“These results confirm that Anguilla remains a highly sought-after destination in a highly competitive region,” said Kenroy Herbert, Chairman of the Anguilla Tourist Board. “We have made the strategic decision to diversify our tourism product and develop and promote experiences that go beyond our spectacular beaches and outstanding cuisine. This resonates with consumers in our target markets and attracts first-time visitors to our shores.”

Record visitor arrived in December

The number of visitor arrivals reached 19,178 people in December 2023, an increase of 27.9% compared to 14,992 in December 2022.

Comparing December visitor arrivals over a 10-year period from 2013 to 2023, the number in December 2023 is the second highest for that month. The highest recorded number was reached in December 2014.

The Anguilla Tourist Board will expand its marketing efforts in 2024, introducing new destination pillars and developing new markets as it works to increase arrivals and occupancy rates while growing Anguilla’s tourism industry.
