Air Canada Celebration as top employer for young people

Air Canada has been recognized for the first time as one of Canada’s Best Employers for Youth in 2024. This is the first time the airline has received this award.

Presented by Mediacorp Canada Inc., this award recognizes the country’s leading organizations for their commitment to developing and supporting young professionals through innovative and forward-thinking programs for young workers, including mentorship, training, career opportunities and social responsibility.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as one of the best employers for youth in Canada,” said Arielle Meloul-Wechsler, executive vice-president, human resources and public affairs at Air Canada. “Air Canada has a long-standing reputation for creating a positive work environment that supports employee development and achievement. As we continue to execute our global business strategies, supporting the next generation of people and talent remains our top priority and we are proud to offer leading programs and opportunities to support their career development.”

Important criteria

Each employer was rated by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers on the programs they offer to attract and retain younger workers. This includes benefits such as tuition assistance and the availability of co-op or work-study programs, mentoring and training programs, career management programs, and initiatives that can help younger workers advance more quickly within the organization.

  • Paid internships in various disciplines (engineering, marketing, economics).
  • It offers a buddy system to support young professionals integrating into the organization, as well as numerous professional development opportunities.
